ipmi/reset-to-defaults-type

What the resettodefaults action preserves when it resets the BMC.

Sent as ResetType to the Redfish Manager.ResetToDefaults action by the resettodefaults machine action.

  • ResetAll clears everything, including the BMC network configuration and user accounts. A BMC on a static address becomes unreachable at that address until it is reconfigured.
  • PreserveNetworkAndUsers keeps the network settings and the user accounts, so the BMC stays reachable with the current ipmi/username and ipmi/password.
  • PreserveNetwork keeps only the network settings; user accounts are reset to the vendor defaults.

Not every BMC implements all three; the action fails with the BMC's own error when an unsupported value is sent.
