ipmi/power-confirm-timeout

How long a Redfish power action waits for the system to reach the requested power state.

A whole number of seconds. Applies to the poweron, poweroff, powersoft and powercycle actions on the Redfish driver.

A reset is a request, not a result. A BMC reports PowerState: Off as soon as it accepts a power-off, while the platform is still shutting down, and a power-on issued during that window is accepted with no error and silently dropped. The action therefore re-reads PowerState after sending a reset and re-sends it, up to this timeout, until the system reports the state that was asked for.

The default is 300 seconds. Raise it for a platform that takes longer to settle than that.

Setting this to 0 disables confirmation: the reset is sent once and the action returns without checking whether it took. That restores the behavior of releases before confirmation was added, and is only appropriate for a caller that cannot afford to block.
