container/init-container¶

Whether the generic containerStart action passes --init to the container runtime.

When set (case-insensitively) to "init", containerStart passes --init to container create, asking the container runtime to run a minimal init process as PID 1 inside the container. This reaps zombie processes left behind by a container whose main process spawns and abandons children, which matters for long-running containers more than short-lived ones.

Any other value, including the default empty string, omits --init.
