Release Summaries¶
Release summaries describe the overview of the release, changes, and required actions.
About Release Summaries¶
This section contains high-level summaries for each major and minor release of Digital Rebar Provision (DRP). Each summary covers the release themes, significant new features, important notices (such as required upgrade steps or breaking changes), vulnerability fixes, deprecations, and removals. For the full incremental change log across all components, see Change History.
Versioning¶
Digital Rebar Provision uses semantic versioning in the form v<Major>.<Minor>.<Patch>. Major version changes indicate significant platform shifts (such as the v3→v4 license and backend change). Minor version changes (e.g. v4.15, v4.16) introduce new features and may include deprecations. Patch releases (e.g. v4.16.1) contain bug fixes and security updates only. One named alias exists: stable (the most recent tagged release, used by the default install).
Warning
The tip alias refers to the current development build from the main branch. It represents items under active product development and is not suitable for production use. Use stable or a specific version tag for production deployments.
For more detail on the versioning and release process, see Version Strategy and Version Scheme.
Support Lifecycle¶
RackN actively supports the current release and, on a best-effort basis, the immediately preceding minor release. Patch releases are produced only for supported versions. Operators running older release streams should plan upgrades to receive security fixes and new features. Release summaries for unsupported versions are preserved here for historical reference and carry a deprecation notice at the top of their page.
