ipmi/password

Password to access the BMC

This parameter is used by the IPMI Plugin to access the BMC

For the bmc-kvm and bmc-sol remote consoles, a DRP user can carry their own BMC account, so the BMC logs each person under their own name. Set ipmi/username and ipmi/password on the user, or on a profile the user holds:

For bmc-kvm on a BMC whose VNC server has its own password, as iDRAC9's does, also set ipmi/console-vnc-password on the user.

provision-server reads these from the user who opens the console before the machine's. Set both username and password or neither; a user with only one is refused rather than paired with the machine's. The plugin's own actions, such as power and console-info, still use the machine's values.

A secure param stored on a user decrypts only for that user, on a token they got by logging in. A token minted for them by someone else cannot read it, and the console is refused with a message saying to log in. This is per-user credentials, not protection from DRP administrators: an administrator can still reach the value the same way they can reach any other secure param.
