sles-16-install

Base BootEnv for SUSE SLES 16+ install using Agama.

This BootEnv defines the base definition for deploying SLES 16+ systems using the Agama installer (which replaced AutoYaST starting with SLES 16).

It is intended as a starting point that other bootenv-customize versions will utilize for the specific ISO version to be deployed. Review the Profiles with the bootenv-customize Params in them for the specific version/patch/release.

The ISOs can be downloaded from the following website location:

Ensure you download the correct version based on the IsoFile name and it's matching Sha256 sum value that matches this BootEnv or the Profile based bootenv-customize versions.

The unattended/answerfile uses the Agama JSON profile format via the agama-sles.json.tmpl template. Set select-kickseed to an alternate template name to override the default.

For SLES 15 and earlier (using AutoYaST), use the sles-15-install bootenv.

No IsoUrl values are specified because SUSE protects the downloads behind an EULA-wall.

SSH debugging is disabled by default. To enable SSH access to the installer environment, set the Param suse-agama/installer-password to your desired password. For additional options, set kernel-options to include:

  • live.password_hash=HASH - Use hashed password (more secure)
